The UN Mapper of the Month - November 2025

Our Mapper of the Month for November 2025 is L Kennedy Vaiphei from India. Kennedy began mapping with UN Mappers in late 2024 and is currently pursuing M.Sc. in Applied Geography and Geoinformatics at the Central University of Karnataka. He is our top contributor for the UN Mappers x FAO Agricultural Waterways Mapping in Southern Mauritania Project 3 - he mapped around 573km of waterways and 140km² of farmland areas.

The UN Mapper of the Month - October 2025

Our Mapper of the Month for October 2025 is Rubi Shrestha from Nepal. Rubi started mapping in late 2023 and is part of the Nepal Geomatics Engineering Society (NGES) and Kathmandu University (KU) YouthMappers community. She is our top contributor for the UN Mappers x FAO Agricultural Waterways Mapping in Southern Mauritania Project 4 - she completed 204 tasks covering 1,168 km2 area, and mapped 323 km of waterways.

The UN Mapper of the Month - September 2025

Our Mapper of the Month for September 2025 is Gilles Noye (OSM username: gnoye). He is our top validator for the UN Mappers x FAO Agricultural Waterways Mapping in Southern Mauritania Projects - he validated 1,395 tasks (or 41% of the all projects) covering more than 8,000 km² of project area.

The UN Mapper of the Month - August 2025

Our Mapper of the Month for August 2025 is Arnold Nkwabong from Cameroon. Arnold is part of the OSM ENSTP community and has been a UN Mapper since 2022. He is our top contributor for the UN Mappers x FAO Agricultural Waterways Mapping in Southern Mauritania Project 2 - he mapped around 440km of waterways and 105 km² of farmland areas.

The UN Mapper of the Month - June 2025

Our Mapper of the Month for June 2025 is Paolo Frizzera (OSM username: GeoFrizz). Paolo is one of the first consultants who spearheaded the UN Maps project and has previously worked with UNGSC. In his volunteer time, he likes creating maps and generating open data that can used by anyone in various purposes such as planning and humanitarian action.

The UN Mapper of the Month - May 2025

Our Mapper of the Month for May 2025 is Nicolas Bounet. Nicolas is a GIS enthusiast, and history and geography highschool teacher from France. Since 2023, he has collaborated with the UN Mappers Team to provide three-day online training sessions with the Theophile Gautier Highschool in Tarbes, France. The latest training was in March 2025 and participated by 30 students*, with the supervision of Nicolas.

The UN Mapper of the month - September 2024

Our Mapper of the Month for September is Włodzimierz Bartczak (Cristoffs in OSM), from Poland.  Włodzimierz distinguished himself during the UN Mappers Mapping Championship held on the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, emerging as the winner for the quality and quantity of his contributions. His mapping skills were also showcased in 2022 when he was awarded as Mapper of the Month. Włodzimierz is a highly active member of the community.

The UN Mapper of the month - August 2024

Our Mapper of the Month for August 2024 is Taichi Furuhashi, MAPconcierge on OSM, professor at Aoyama Gakuin University in Japan. Driven by a passion for using mapping to support and empower communities, Taichi has been actively involved in disaster response and resilience efforts since the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami of 2011.
