During your professional service in UN Maps you will have the opportunity to collaborate in one of the following projects:
- Mapping: Production of open geospatial information to fuel all the UN Maps features and keep them accurate and up to date.
- Crowdsourcing: Engage with the UN Mappers community and perform collaborative mapping activities with volunteers and geospatial professionals.
- UN Maps Features: Help in the development of the UN Maps Features, including the basemaps, satellite imagery hosting, routing, geocoding, 3D visualization and more.
- Infrastructure: Ensure that the UN Maps programme is always running at maximum efficiency and latency.
Internship
With an internship in UN Maps, young professionals in the world of geospatial information can acquire a great skillset while working in a professional and international environment.
At the moment, internship can be entertained both on site or remote. UN Maps is operating from the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) which has duty stations in Brindisi (Italy) and Valencia (Spain).
During the internship the candidate will be exposed to open geospatial editing and development of software solutions on data, visualization or infrastructure associated with UN Maps.
Internship in the UN Secretariat are unpaid and open to global competition through the UN Careers portal.
